Have you heard about Odd Magazine? It’s a magazine made by students from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute and some of them also did the minor i did, Visual Culture. I bought the magazine last week and i think the endresult is really nice! But what i like especially about the concept is the integration of facebook and their website. They did a great job!
They have a categorie on their website called ‘my world’ in which someone shows their world in their photographs. Why not try it out myself!
What makes you happy?
What is your biggest dream?
What is your favorite color?
What does fashion mean to you?
What is your favorite stereotype?
What is your favorite sound?
What is your most beautiful memory?
If you decide to put this on your blog as well, please let me know, i would love to see your world in photographs!
Breakfast is my most important meal of the day, really can’t live without some food in the morning! Actually, i ate this yesterday but it’s really nice. I think avocado’s are delicious, especially with creamcheese!
This is how I look today. Not such an exciting sunday though. Have to work on my thesis and in the evening, i’ll head to my grandparents for a cup of tea. How is your weekend been so far?
Thank you for all the sweet comments on my post before!
We sit in my new apartment, where i haven’t even moved my stuff to yet, and just finished a nice game of ‘who are you?’. We open the champagne too early and stand on the balcony. Ten… nine… eight… it’s almost time. Three.. two.. one! Everyone is kissing each other and I find my way to my boyfriend, who I kiss and wish the best 2010. A new year has begun. A new place to live. I thought this year was going to be amazing.
In January, i was really busy with moving my stuff to my new place and ending my minor. My boyfriend was doing his internship and we were most of the time extremely tired when we met. But at the end of January, it was all over. I finished my minor and one week later, he ended his internship. Things would be better now, i thought. After his last day at work, he came to my place and i saved some dinner for him. He was tired and took a bath. That night, he told me that he wanted to break up. I cried for hours. My roommate came to calm me down and let me sleep in her bed. I thought i could never fall in love again. For days i sat on the couch with my mom and friends, watching sex and the city and drinking tea, thinking the pain would never pass. I lost almost 5 kilo’s that week.
As the weeks passed by, so did my tears. During that time, i started to work on my thesis, which i had to do alone. I had no obligation to go to school and was at home very often. Sometimes we went out and I kissed a random guy, which was kind of strange. My roommate suggested we should do something new, something to take our mind of things. So we did. We started to sport. Zumba, fitness and at the end, we became member of a rowing club. It was nice to think about other things than boys and love.
In the beginning of May, i met a cute guy who gives me soft kisses and makes me smile. We see each other almost five times a week and i enjoy all the moments. He makes my days a little brighter the next two months. He made me believe in love again. Summer arrives. We went separate ways and I ended up in Spain with my best friends. We lay on the beach, surf and dance a lot. We drink too much wodka lime and kiss Australian and Belgium guys.
Now i’m back in Amsterdam, packing my stuff to move anywhere else, place still unknown. At the first of august, i have to leave my room. Amazing moments have happened there but also the worst. In some strange way, i’m glad to leave. The whole break up still breathes in that apartment. Never ever have i taken a bath in that bathroom. Next week, my best friend comes back from Berlin and we will go on the train and explore Scandinavia together for three weeks. Can’t wait for another adventure to come.
Since i was five years old, i danced. I started with once a week but that became three times a week and everyday practice at home. When my friends came over to play we made dances and performed it for our parents. So you can imagine my disappointment when i was rejected at the national ballet academy at the age of 11. I focussed on other things i liked and i even quit dancing for a year. But that didn’t took very long, when i was 15 i switched from classic ballet to modern dance and i’m still dancing once a week.
At the end of each year we have a performance. This year we danced a russian fairytale called Snegurochka. During the last rehearsal in the theather, i made this little video.
I don’t remember the last time when i was so tired. Yesterday, i fell asleep on the couch and it just happened again. Maybe i shouldn’t work on the couch anymore? As i have to finish my thesis and have to go to my job in 20 minutes, i really have no time to sleep. Love to think about my bed though.
When i was browsing my computer yesterday, i came by my album of photobooth pictures. I usually went making pictures when i was bored so i captured a lot of weird faces! I also liked to see my changing haircuts througout the years!
2007, i just cut my hair
And i curled it for a party
I also met my twin
In 2008, i was blonde and bored
And i cut my bangs!
But i wanted to have longer hair again so i let it grew
In 2009, i wasn’t fond of the blonde hair anymore..
.. so i painted it brown!
I liked it
I fell asleep at the end of 2009
I started 2010 with bows in my hair
Lots and lots of bows
My roommate did my hair and makeup for a night out
The sun was shining in April and i enjoyed the balcony
Painted my hair red for the first time
A few days ago!
As i said before, i’m really into rings lately. You can imagine how excited i was when my cobblestone ring from LuShae Jewelry arrived! In a nice box the postman delivered it last week. I think it is a gorgeous ring because it is not simple, yet you can combine it with a lot of other rings like i did before. What do you think?
No, not for real but i went to the hairdresser two days ago and she dyed my hair red! And red it is! Still have to get used to it, when i pass by a mirror i check it every time. Is that really me? I have to say, in the sunlight the colour is a lot more intense then in normal day life. And this is how i looked yesterday.
I couldn’t help myself, but i had to make a little video of our trip to Zarautz. Unfortunatly, i did not bring my eos camera because it was to tricky with the sand so i had to keep it safe in my tent. Not the best quality but we sure had lots of fun!
It has been so hot in Amsterdam the past few days, we decided to cool down at a lake nearby. We rented a boat and my father and i were rowing. Stopped for a swim, had a picnic with my aunt, uncle and cousins, and rowed back at the end of the day. It was lovely!
This blog belongs to two guys who like to play around with their camera. And they’re doing a pretty good job! Like this video, i think it is amazing. Hope to make something like this one day!
I had the best time in Spain! The weather was great, surfing went great and the people were great as well. We went surfing a lot and even we didn’t booked lessons, i’ve learned a lot. My friend is working on a surfcamp and she is still there, kind of jealous right now! Now i’m back the stress has begun again. I have to find a new place to live within one week as my parents are going on their holiday next week and they can’t help me when they’re gone. It looks like i’m moving back with my folks again. Just for a couple of months because i want to travel to Asia in december! Lots of plans and too little time
